OR, you can drop off all required materials the next time you’re in shopping. All materials must be received by our Community Outreach Department 30 days prior to the event or deadline, whichever comes first. If your submission is not complete, we will be unable to process your request and you will need to resubmit it.
Generally Bow Street is able to approve one donation request per year per organization. This allows us to give a little bit to ALOT!
Bottle Redemption Program Donation Requirements:
Bow Street Market has been proud to support local nonprofit organizations through our Bottle Redemption Donation Program, which has generated meaningful funds for dozens of community causes. We remain committed to giving back, but due to staffing changes, we can no longer manage the daily handling and transport of bottles and cans ourselves.
Effective August 1, 2025, the program will continue with the following new requirements:
Program Changes
- Pickup Schedule – Participating organizations must pick up returnable bottles and cans from Bow Street Market at least once per week, or more often if volume requires.
- Liability – The organization assumes all liability for the collection, handling, and transport of bottles and cans from the Bow Street Market property.
- Missed Pickups – Failure to meet the required pickup schedule will result in immediate forfeiture of all future collection opportunities
- Direct Payment – All bottle redemption proceeds will be paid directly to the organization by the Bottle Redemption Facility. Bow Street Market will not handle any payment
- Redemption Facility – Bottles may be redeemed at Country Redemption located at 155 Durham Rd, Freeport, ME 04032 or any redemption center of your choice
We believe these changes will allow the program to remain a valuable community resource while ensuring a smooth, efficient process. If your nonprofit would like to participate under the updated guidelines, please submit the attached request in accordance with our existing requirements. Thank you for your understanding, flexibility, and continued support of our efforts to help local organizations and promote environmental responsibility.
